As part of the Bhashini AI project, Google Pay is developing an AI feature for UPI payments via voice commands in cooperation with the Indian government. This would enhance convenience for users, especially the illiterate.
Google Pay is set to bring about a powerful AI feature that will allow users to make UPI payments by speaking, eliminating the need to type. Sharat Bulusu, Lead Product Manager of Google Pay in India, stated that this voice instructions feature will simplify the digital payment process. Specific details about the AI voice feature are yet to be revealed.
This initiative is being developed in collaboration between Google and the Union Government. It is part of the Bhashini AI project, which aims to enable people to make payments in their local languages. Google has not yet announced a launch date for this feature.
