The Board of Directors of BRD – Groupe Societe Generale S.A on 19-th of July, 2019 informed the investors about the nomination of Mr. Radu Topliceanu (photo) as Deputy CEO Retail of BRD – Groupe Societe Generale S.A., for a 4 – year’s mandate, starting with August 5th 2019, on the vacant position existing in the Management Committee.
The apointment above mentioned is subject to obtaining the prior approval of National Bank of Romania, as per the legal provisions in force and will become effective starting with the date of issuance of the prior approval by the National Bank of Romania, according to a Bucharest Stock Exchange announcement.
Topliceanu is a senior banker with strong expertize in retail banking. His banker career began in January 2002 when he was employed by Raiffeisen Bank Romania to develop and implement the digital strategy in the newly acquired bank as the director of the digital banking sector.
The next eleven years in Raiffeisen, find him first as retail sales manager, VP Retail Sales and Distribution – South Eastern Europe and then Chief Executive of Personal Banking Segments and Bank Products.
After that, he left Romania in December 2013 to work for several foreign banks. First, as a member of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank Slovenija – where he supervised the transformation of the bank into the digital leader of the market in Slovenia. He was then employed by Sberbank Europe AG Austria as Managing Director – Chief of retail banking and multichannel distribution.
Since January 2018, he has been acting as Director – Global Personal Banking, products and segments at Singapore’s Standard Chartered Bank. About this last professional experience, Radu said:
