RoFintech members reach €285 million in aggregate business in 2025, new report shows

8 octombrie 2026

RoFintech, the Romanian Fintech Association, has released its latest industry report, Romanian Fintech Industry — 2025, Record Year, prepared by KeysFin. The report examines the financial performance of 42 RoFintech member companies included in the study, which together generated €285.1 million in business volume in 2025, recorded an aggregate net result of €11.4 million, and employed an average of 1,113 people.

The report provides an expanded view of the ecosystem represented by RoFintech, covering company size, business performance, employment and profitability.

The aggregate business value of the companies included in the 2025 study was 245% higher than the figure reported for 2024. The comparison should, however, be viewed in the context of a significantly larger sample: the number of companies analyzed increased from 29 in 2024 to 42 in 2025, with 14 companies added and one removed. The year-on-year increase therefore does not reflect organic growth across the same group of companies alone.

SelfPay leads the ranking by business volume

SelfPay ranked first among the companies analyzed, with a business volume of €57.1 million, up 20% from 2024. PayPoint Services followed with €54.9 million, while Eazy Asigurări recorded total revenues of €54.3 million. For the insurer, the study uses total revenues rather than turnover, in line with the methodology applied.

The five largest companies accounted for approximately 74% of the aggregate business value of the companies included in the study.

Several companies also recorded significant year-on-year increases in turnover. Smart Fintech grew by 168%, SymphoPay by 86%, Lendox by 54%, and Finqware by 38% compared with 2024.

Profitability remains mixed across the ecosystem

Profitability varied significantly among the 42 companies analyzed. In 2025, 22 companies reported a profit, while 20 recorded losses.

The aggregate net result — calculated as the combined profits minus the combined losses of the companies analyzed — stood at €11.4 million.

SelfPay reported the highest net profit in the sample, at €7.8 million, followed by Petrol Solutions, with €4.9 million, and Europayment Services, with €3 million.

The figures highlight a diverse ecosystem, with profitable businesses operating alongside companies that continue to face challenges in achieving sustainable financial performance.

More than 1,100 employees across RoFintech member companies analyzed

The combined average number of employees reached 1,113 in 2025.

PayPoint Services was the largest employer among the companies analyzed, with 234 employees, followed by Smith & Smith, with 191, and SelfPay, with 95.

Bucharest accounted for approximately 80% of the aggregate business value generated by the companies analyzed, underscoring the capital’s central role in the ecosystem represented by RoFintech.

Growth expected to continue in 2026

KeysFin expects the companies analyzed to maintain their growth trajectory in 2026, with aggregate business potentially exceeding €300 million.
