The European Payments Council (EPC) has published new versions of the SEPA Request-to-Pay (SRTP) scheme rulebook as well as the rulebook-related clarification paper.
Version 3.2 of the SRTP scheme rulebook includes clarifications related to Enrolment and Activation processes, to be aligned with the related Implementation Guidelines (IGs) also published on 22 December 2023.
The SEPA Request-to-Pay (SRTP) scheme rulebook covers the set of operating rules and technical elements (including messages) that allow a Payee to request the initiation of a payment from a Payer in a wide range of physical or online use cases.
The purpose of the clarification paper, which can be downloaded below, is to provide guidance and, where feasible, recommendations to the future Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Request-to-Pay (SRTP) scheme participants on matters that are not as such described in version 3.2 of the SRTP scheme rulebook, which was published on 22 December.
With these additional clarifications related to the Enrolment and Activation processes, the EPC aims to avoid a fragmented approach in the way the SRTP rulebook is implemented.
Also, it should be noted that the clarification paper is a living document which will be updated from time to time once new questions and/or issues arise that need further clarification.
This version of the SRTP scheme rulebook is effective immediately.
