Libra Internet Bank enhances its online account opening experience with WhatsApp notifications, a first in Romania

Libra Internet Bank claims to be „the first bank in Romania to introduce WhatsApp notifications into its online account opening process for individual customers” – according to the press release. Applicants can now receive important updates on the status of their applications through a familiar and easily accessible communication channel.

WhatsApp notifications complement email communications and keep applicants informed throughout the key stages of the process: application submission, completion of the review, account opening or closure of the application process. Applicants will also be notified whenever additional information is required.

„For certain interactions during the process, applicants will be able to use the buttons available directly in WhatsApp messages, without having to type replies in the conversation. The app will therefore serve as an information and guidance channel rather than a conversational service, making relevant updates easier to notice and follow.” – the bank explained.

With WhatsApp, we are bringing account opening updates to an easily accessible channel that is well suited to quick notifications. To ensure user safety, Libra Internet Bank will never ask users to share passwords, PINs, CVV codes or authentication codes through WhatsApp conversations.
