Carrefour Banque and the Auchan Group move towards bank card payments acceptance standardisation in Europe

14 ianuarie 2014

Following the success of the pilot solutions launched in France last June, Ingenico continues the roll-out in two new European countries. The company announces the deployment of a pilot payment solution with Carrefour Banque and the Auchan Group in France, Spain and Portugal, to support them in their move towards standardising the acceptance of bank card payments in Europe.

This solution is a new step in the standardization of transaction processing at a European level. The aim is to optimise the card payments acceptance of all European stores based on SEPA standards and to increase security management.

The deployment process of these pilots draws on the recognised expertise of Ingenico and on its leading position in Europe SEPA in implementing standalone and centralised card payment solutions across the region.

Pierre-Antoine Vacheron, Europe-SEPA Executive Vice President at Ingenico, stated: “We are proud to be pioneering the deployment of a SEPA payment solution across several countries. This is an important step towards meeting the needs of the major retailers to manage their card payments in Europe.”

With over 20 million terminal in operation in more than 125 countries, Ingenico is a major player in payment solutions.
