BNP Paribas’ bank card with fingerprint reader will cost 24 euros per year, in addition to the annual Visa Premier membership fee set at 134 euros in 2021. Its commercial deployment is scheduled for 2021, according to MoneyVox.
Paying by card with your fingerprint will soon become a reality at BNP Paribas. After testing its biometric bank card this fall, the bank plans to extend its marketing to the whole of France this year. Until then BNP Paribas only allowed a few branches to offer it to their clients, up to a limit of 10,000 cards. But from the second half of 2021, the biometrics option will be available in all branches.
In December, Céline Ansquer, transformation, marketing and digital director of the bank, told the Parisian that this card was going to be generalized in the first half of 2021, it being popular with its holders.
However, the biometric option will not be compatible with all cards, but only offered with the Visa Premier. The originality of this biometric Visa Premier consists in dispensing with a 4-digit code. The transaction is no longer validated using a secret code but by affixing your fingerprint on the reader provided for this purpose and integrated into the card.
Until now, via contactless, only card payments for an amount less than 50 euros did not require entering a code. However, the biometric card remains associated with a PIN code to pay punctually in the traditional way.
In plus, cardul fizic se va dematerializa.
