The BLIK system has completed all implementation work and is now available to Tatra banka customers. Also, Blik is reportedly working on making its instant payment services available to Revolut’s banking clients in Poland and subsequently roll out its service internationally with the help of the U.K.-based financial platform.
„Slovak users of the Tatra banka VIAMO mobile app are the first to have the ability to make convenient, fast, and secure mobile payments using a six-digit code for online shopping.” – according to the press release.
„From now on, this feature will allow online shoppers in Slovakia to perform easier and online transactions directly from their phones. Thanks to partnership with PayU, a leading online payment service provider in CEE, the first online stores in Slovakia have already made the BLIK payment method available for their customers.” – the company said.
BLIK SK was introduced to the Slovak market in 2023 following a merger with VIAMO. In previous months, Tatra banka became the first bank to sign an agreement to participate in the BLIK system. Now, after completing the implementation work, users of the Tatra banka VIAMO app can already use BLIK mobile payments.
„To make a payment, they simply need to generate a 6-digit code in the Tatra banka VIAMO and enter it on the payment page. After this step, users see all transaction details and confirm the transaction using their PIN in the app. This method ensures convenience, speed, and transaction security.” – BLIK explained.
„BLIK is an innovative payment method that guarantees clients the best possible payment experience. With its unique features – convenience, speed, and security – we are fully meeting the needs of modern consumers. It complements the wide range of the bank’s payment instruments that enhance our clients’ comfort. We are very pleased that the implementation work is complete and that the first Tatra banka customers can now use advantage of BLIK.” – says Lukáš Mochňák, Head of Mobile applications department, Tatra banka.
PayU has become the first online payment service provider offering BLIK as a payment method for merchants transacting in Slovakia. Users of the Tatra banka VIAMO app can already make easy payments with BLIK in dozens of online stores that are using PayU as a payment gateway.
„Collaboration with BLIK in the Polish market has been producing excellent results for years, so we are pleased to continue this partnership in Slovakia as well, supporting the development of local e-commerce. Providing BLIK to Tatra banka customers in Slovak online stores is a response to the growing demand for convenient and secure payment methods. We see that consumers are increasingly choosing innovative solutions that simplify online shopping, and our role as a payment integrator is crucial in ensuring the smoothness and reliability of these transactions.” – says Martin Prunner, Country Manager for Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary at PayU.
„For the past ten years, BLIK has achieved tremendous success on the Polish market, gaining the trust of millions of users. I am convinced that this payment solution will also impress Slovaks, who will appreciate the convenience, speed, and security of payments in online stores. We are also intensively working on implementations in other banks.” – says Lubo Požgay, CEO BLIK SK.
Also, Blik is reportedly working on making its instant payment services available to Revolut’s banking clients in Poland and subsequently roll out its service internationally with the help of the U.K.-based financial platform.
