AliExpress, the global e-commerce platform of Chinese online shopping giant Alibaba , warned customers there may be some delivery delays due to the coronavirus outbreak in a Facebook post.
„We are working hard to get your parcels delivered, but there may be some delays due to Coronavirus (…) Some shipping and logistics are experiencing longer waiting times for processing orders.”, the platform said.
„Your package is safe and secure! Guidance from the World Health Organization suggests that packages from China cannot carry Coronavirus.”, company added.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it seems safe to receive a package from any area where COVID-19 has been reported.
„The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.”, the WHO said.
AliExpress is one of the most downloaded shopping apps globally, part of a growing trend in e-commerce for consumers worldwide to buy goods such as mobile phone cases and clothing directly from the Chinese manufacturer.
