The company is targeting medium-sized and large organizations, with a focus on the banking and public sectors.
Span, an international IT company headquartered in Croatia and listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, has launched operations in Romania. In 2025, the group generated global revenue of €230.9 million, employs more than 1,000 people and operates in 17 countries, including Romania.
Officially present on the local market since July 1 and operational since September 1, Span Romania primarily targets medium-sized and large organizations, with a focus on the banking and public sectors. In the long term, the company aims to turn its Bucharest office into a regional hub for the group.
The decision to enter the Romanian market is part of Span’s next phase of regional growth. The company sees Romania as an important market, given the development potential of its local technology sector. The opportunities it intends to pursue span all three strategic areas underpinning Span’s business and market positioning: cloud, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
“We see significant potential in the Romanian market and an opportunity to leverage the expertise and capabilities we have developed across the group. Our ambition is to build a strong local organization and, over time, develop Bucharest into a regional hub to support our growth in this part of Europe,” said Nikola Dujmović, CEO of Span.
Span’s Romanian operations are led by Corneliu Asiraf Pandele, General Manager, who has more than 20 years of experience in technology, sales and management. Before joining Span, he held leadership positions at companies such as IBM and SAS, with responsibilities spanning sales strategy, business development and partner network expansion.
“For organizations in Romania, aligning cloud transformation, cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence projects with tangible business outcomes is becoming increasingly important. Span can bring all these capabilities together in a single portfolio covering the entire journey, from strategy and implementation to operations. In response to this need, our priority at this stage is to build a sustainable business in the local market and become a trusted technology partner for organizations in Romania,” said Corneliu Asiraf Pandele, General Manager of Span Romania.
Span covers the entire project lifecycle, from strategy and architecture to implementation, managed services and 24/7 technical support. In addition, Span specialists develop customized technology solutions that combine the company’s expertise in data, software and artificial intelligence. Span is also entering the Romanian market with the group’s full ecosystem of international technology partnerships, including Microsoft, Google, AWS, Dynatrace, HPE, Broadcom, Veeam and others.
The company primarily targets medium-sized and large organizations with complex technology environments and significant digital transformation needs. The banking and public sectors will be its main areas of focus, with priority given to organizations for which technology is becoming increasingly important to performance, resilience and growth, and which are looking for a long-term technology partner.
Local recruitment will therefore follow business development and customer demand. Span Romania plans to hire specialists in cloud, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, as well as technical, sales and service professionals needed to build a mature local operation.
Over the next three years, Span aims to develop a local organization capable of independently delivering projects and services in the Romanian market, supported by the expertise, resources and partnerships of the wider group.
The expansion is backed by the group’s financial performance: Span closed 2025 with global revenue of €230.9 million and net profit of €5.7 million. Most of Span’s revenue is generated through its international subsidiaries operating across Europe, Asia and the United States.
