The largest marketplace and fintech ecosystem in Kazakhstan expands into banking and completes acquisition of Rabobank A.Ş. in Türkiye

16 iulie 2026

Joint Stock Company Kaspi.kz announced that it has completed the acquisition of Rabobank A.Ş., a fully licensed bank in Türkiye. Kaspi is the largest payments, marketplace and fintech ecosystem in Kazakhstan. The company’s aspiration is to expand in mid-term across some countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Kaspi.kz operates a unique two-sided Super App model, serving more than 25 million consumers and 900 thousand merchants across Kazakhstan and Türkiye. In Kazakhstan, Kaspi Super App seamlessly integrates payments, e-Commerce, e-grocery, fintech, travel, classifieds and government services. „This comprehensive offering is deeply relevant to users’ daily lives, driving exceptional engagement with 77 monthly transactions per active consumer.” – the company said.

In Türkiye, Kaspi.kz owns an 86.74% stake in Hepsiburada, one of the country’s leading e-Commerce platforms.

Marcel van Oost, the Founder of Connecting the dots in FinTech, commented: „This isn’t just about entering a new market. Owning a banking license gives Kaspi much greater flexibility to develop financial products directly, rather than relying on partnerships. As more digital banks and super apps expand internationally, acquiring licensed financial institutions is increasingly becoming the fastest route to scaling new markets.

Kaspi.kz has been listed on Nasdaq since January 2024.
