Smart Fintech integrates Smart Accounts into Facturează.ro, bringing automated invoice reconciliation directly from bank accounts for over 68,000 companies

13 martie 2026

Smart Fintech, the Romanian fintech specialized in Open Banking technologies, announces the integration of its Smart Accounts solution into the online invoicing platform Facturează.ro, allowing the platform’s more than 68,000 users to connect their bank accounts directly within the invoicing application.

„Through this integration, invoices issued and received from suppliers can be automatically reconciled with incoming and outgoing payments from bank accounts, eliminating manual processes. Transactions are imported automatically, and the system performs intelligent matching between invoices and banking operations. For businesses, this means better financial control and a significant reduction in the time spent on administrative tasks.” – according to the press release.

„The integration enables the management of invoices, payments, and banking transactions in a single place, eliminating the need for manual checks of bank statements or financial documents. The system automatically verifies the details of each transaction (payer, beneficiary, IBAN, company ID number, amount, and payment description) and matches them with the corresponding company documents. Through this collaboration, Open Banking becomes a native feature within Facturează.ro for its users.” – the company explained.

By integrating the Smart Accounts technology, factureaza.ro platform users benefit from:
. direct connection to bank accounts from within the invoicing application
. automatic import of transactions from connected banks
. intelligent matching between payments and invoices (issued or received)
. automatic reconciliation of payments and receipts
. real-time visibility into paid or outstanding invoices.

Open Banking integrated directly into SMEs’ financial applications
Smart Fintech is currently a leader in Romania in terms of the number of IBANs connected in the SME segment, with more than 32,000 bank accounts connected through its technology. The integration of Smart Accounts into Facturează.ro enables the full automation of financial reconciliation processes, giving SMEs access to modern technologies that simplify the management of financial flows.

Security and data control
Bank account connections are established through secure connections, compliant with banking security standards and European PSD2 regulations. Authentication is performed directly with the bank, and users provide explicit consent for data access. The platform does not store online banking authentication credentials and accesses only the information necessary for importing and processing transactions.

Alice Anghelea, Fintech Growth Manager, Smart Fintech:
We are a trusted partner for the SME segment and for financial application providers, and we take on the mission of making open banking truly accessible, relevant, and easy to adopt at scale. Through our API platform and the Smart Accounts SaaS application, we support the local market by connecting over 32,000 IBAN accounts belonging to companies that manage their financial operations through our solutions.

Beyond direct bank connectivity, we provide a comprehensive framework for automating financial workflows, from retrieving transactions and updating balances directly from the source to enabling automatic payment initiation to beneficiaries from integrated applications. At the same time, through SmartPay, companies can receive payments directly into their accounts via payment links and QR codes naturally embedded across customer interaction points – from invoices and emails to customer accounts and mobile or web applications.”
