Open banking: Amikeco integrates FinqLink and A2A payments model for instant fleet card top-ups

5 martie 2026

The A2A model, also known as Pay by Bank, enables payments to be initiated directly from the user’s bank account without using a card, resulting in a significantly optimized cost structure compared to traditional card payments. While card payment fees typically range between 1.5% and 3.5%, A2A payments operated via Open Banking infrastructure can reduce costs to an estimated range of 0.4% – 0.6%, depending on the commercial model applied.

Amikeco, a Romanian company specializing in digital mobility solutions for individuals and businesses, announces the integration of the modern Open Banking payment method into its premium AMK Gold application through FinqLink, the solution developed by Finqware.

FinqLink is a modern payment method, mandatory under Romanian legislation as of January 1, 2026, enabling users to instantly top up their fuel card balances directly from their bank accounts via Account-to-Account (A2A) payments authorized within their banking app, marking a premiere in Romania’s mobility industry.” – according to the press release.

„Through this integration, AMK Gold users can select the desired amount, choose their bank from the integrated list, and authorize the payment directly within their banking application. Funds are credited instantly to the fuel card account and can be used immediately. The functionality is available both to individual users and to companies managing fleets that require fast funding and greater predictability in cash flow management. This modern payment method is currently the only option that enables real-time balance availability.” – the company explained.

We wanted AMK Gold to offer not only guaranteed fuel discounts, but also a modern financial infrastructure aligned with users’ expectations in 2026. Integrating FinqLink allows us to provide instant balance top-ups, at the highest security standards and with an optimized cost structure, directly from the user’s bank account. It is a natural step in the evolution of our digital ecosystem”, said Cătălin Dascălu, co-founder Amikeco.

Payments are processed via FinqLink, Finqware’s solution built on Open Banking technology, regulated at European level under the PSD2 Directive. Finqware is a payment institution authorized by the National Bank of Romania, and payments are initiated and authorized exclusively within the user’s banking application, without storing card details. The integration currently connects to more than 13 banks in Romania, including BT, ING, Raiffeisen, Revolut, CEC Bank, UniCredit, BCR and others.

In addition, instant balance updates eliminate traditional settlement delays and provide improved
predictability in financial flow management, an essential factor for companies operating fleets or managing recurring payment volumes.

The A2A model represents a fundamentally different and modern payment method compared to traditional card payments. For companies operating fleets or managing recurring volumes, the difference in cost and speed becomes operationally relevant at scale. Through FinqLink, we bring to the mobility sector a regulated, scalable infrastructure aligned with European standards in digital payments,” said Cosmin Cosma, co-founder and CEO Finqware.

The partnership between Amikeco and Finqware marks an important step in modernizing payment infrastructure within the mobility sector and aligns with the broader trend of growing Account-to-Account payment adoption in Romania and across Europe. Against the backdrop of accelerated digitalization and widespread use of mobile banking applications, Open Banking-based solutions are becoming increasingly relevant for industries that require fast, efficient and predictable payment flows.
