The European Payments Council (EPC) has officially launched the second phase of the EPC Directory Service (EDS) Pilot in test environment . This extended phase is now open to all Verification Of Payee (VOP) scheme participants and qualified Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms (RVMs). It will remain active until the end of August.
All eligible payment service providers (PSPs) and RVMs are notified about the availability of the EDS Test platform via email, sent to the addresses indicated in the VOP adherence document or RVM agreement.
The EPC strives to launch the EDS in Live mode (pre-production) in early September 2025, ahead of the VOP scheme’s entering into force on 5 October 2025. All PSPs and RVMs onboarded during the Pilot phase will be recognised in the Live platform without need to re-onboard. Further actions and decisions regarding the use of data entered in the EDS by the PSPs and RVMs during the Pilot phase will be shared by the EPC in due course.
