Samsung launches credit card in Brazil

Continuing the partnership with Itaú and Visa, Samsung launches the first credit card in the segment in the Brasilian market, providing the consumer with a Platinum card, without annual fee, with product financing up to 21x without interest on the company’s website.

After approval, it is not necessary to wait for the physical card to arrive in order to use it: it is already available immediately in the exclusive app, making it possible to register with Samsung Pay³ for payments by approach at any establishment. The app also provides virtual cards that can be used for online payments.

“Those who have pre-approved credit analysis will be able to use the card within minutes after downloading the Samsung Itaucard app. We anticipated the launch of the application so that we could grant differentiated benefits and financing conditions for the acquisition of the new Galaxy S21 5G¹ model and, in the coming months, we will still have a series of advances in experience and offer channels ”, said Rubens Fogli, director of Itaú Unibanco.

“We co-created this solution in order to make it complete throughout the consumer’s payment journey. In addition to having technology and security, we have gathered advantages and benefits for this to be people’s preferred card for both Samsung product purchases and everyday purchases ”, says Tiago Moherdaui, Vice President of Business Development at Visa of Brazil.

The novelty also has the ease of payment technology by approximation, whose number of transactions quintupled in Brazil between January and December 2020, and several benefits made possible by Visa, including Price Protection⁴. 

Another exclusive benefit is double points in the Samsung Rewards program. Consumers who use the card on Samsung Pay also become part of the Samsung Rewards loyalty program. There will be 30 extra points for payment⁵ made with Samsung Pay and a promotion with a bonus of 1,000 points in the first transaction with it. Points can be exchanged for various benefits, such as credits for use in products and services of partner companies.
