Transposition was meant to happen two years ago on Jan 13th 2018. As it turned out, this was not the reality and there are infringement proceedings out against 15 countries for lateness or incompleteness.
According to the European Commission, Payment services (PSD 2) – transposition status, 25 countries have finally transposed PSD2 while 3 (Malta, Romania and Spain) have partially transposed.
Due to the lack or delay of the notification of national transposition measures or their incompleteness, an Infringement proceeding for non-communication of the national transposition measure is pending against 15 member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.
