New speakers at Banking 4.0 – international fintech conference

The line of international experts present at Banking 4.0 is getting stronger every week. The latest confirmed speaker is Jeremy Light, the responsible for strategic accounts in Europe for Ripple. Formerly Managing Director of Accenture’s payment practice in Europe, Jeremy is experienced in strategy, and in architecting and implementing change across payment domains, including international payments, cash management and trade.

He has worked with global transactions banks, regional banks, local banks, payment processors, corporates and Fintechs. He is a thought leader and blogs regularly on payments, innovation and industry change.

“Payments excite me because they reach into everyone’s lives everyday – improving payments, improves society. This has driven me in my career for more than two decades, firstly at Accenture where I built and ran their payments practice across Europe, advising banks, regulators, clearing systems, card issuers, acquirers, gateways, processors and retailers; and now with an exciting new digital asset payments network business whose mission is to make cross-border payments frictionless and efficient.

Much of my experience is to help payment organisations make sense of the fast-changing payments landscape and set strategy to position within it, in particular to exploit technologies such as open APIs, cloud, mobile, real-time, distributed ledger, analytics, NFC and biometrics.

I have been in the engine rooms of banks rearchitecting infrastructure using leading payment platforms. Now my role is to help make our vision for efficient and frictionless cross-border payments a reality.

My interests include payments of all types, open banking and open APIs, payment innovation, digital asset networks, their uses and network effects, and the economics of payment networks.”
