TypingDNA extends proprietary typing biometrics technology for mobile authentication

TypingDNA is extending its proprietary typing biometrics technology for mobile-based authentication at the Gartner Identity and Access Management (IAM) Summit 2019, the company announced.

TypingDNA develops frictionless authentication solutions that ensure security through typing biometrics on smartphones. The technology analyzes keystroke times and mobile sensory data to create patterns to authenticate users. Its mobile authentication solution can be deployed on iOS, Android and Reactive Native for multiple uses cases such a two-factor (2FA) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to ensure customer security, but also in SaaS-delivered IAMs integrations, and for SSOs.

“Due to a continuous worldwide increase in the number of smartphone users and growing mobile authentication requirements in areas such as banking, we have decided to spread our authentication capabilities to mobile. This way, we ensured enabling our clients to deliver a mobile-first approach in authenticating their users,” said Raul Popa, CEO, and co-founder of TypingDNA.

TypingDNA’s behavioral biometrics technology has been applied in many industries including banking, financial services, insurance, and identity verification for online learning organizations.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) approved keystroke dynamics as a compliant method of authentication under PSD2’s SCA requirements earlier this year.

In June, TypingDNA released a customizable MFA solution that uses a combination of typing biometrics, SMS OTP, or email OTP to authenticate users in a secure, frictionless manner. Its solution was integrated with cybersecurity firm XTN Cognitive Security’s behavioral fraud prevention solution to help banking organizations defend against sophisticated fraud threats.

TypingDNA’s authentication is currently used in industries such as banking, financial services, insurance, and identity verification for online learning organizations.
