The first pan-European mobile bank​ ​surpasses​ ​100.000​ ​customers​ ​in​ ​France​ ​in​ ​less​ ​than​ ​one​ ​year

N26, The Mobile Bank, announced that it reached the 100.000 customer milestone in France. After launching in France at the beginning of this year, N26 has experienced​ ​explosive​ ​growth​ ​in​ ​the​ ​market,​ ​primarily​ ​driven​ ​by​ ​referrals​ ​from​ ​existing​ ​customers.

„More than 3.000 French customers now joining N26 every week. N26 has proven popular with people of all age groups, looking for a modern, fully digital banking experience. 40% of N26 customers are over the age of 35.”, according to the press release.

N26, the first pan-European mobile bank, recently announced that it has reached more than 500.000 customers across its 17 markets. In the last 5 months alone over 200.000 customers have chosen​ ​to​ ​make​ ​N26​ ​their​ ​bank.

N26’s growth is mainly organic. It’s based on referrals from existing customers, who value N26’s unrivalled user experience. N26 has re-designed banking for the smartphone, making it fast, contemporary and easy to use.

“Our success proves that we are setting new standards in banking,” explains Jérémie Rosselli, General Manager for France at N26, “Simplicity, transparency and a mobile-first experience have proven popular with our customers, something we observe across all of our markets.”

N26 customers in France can enjoy the highest level of security thanks to 3DSecure, the first ever native in-app integration of Mastercard SecureCode. N26 has also launched a business account for freelancers and self-employed in April and announced that it will bring Apple Pay to France later this year. N26 will launch more products for customers in France, for example, consumer credit, next year.

In January 2016, N26 celebrated its 100.000th customer. Since then, N26 has more than quadrupled its rate of growth. The transaction volume has surpassed over 5 billion Euros. N26 customers are made up of 170 different nationalities and use their cards in 207 different countries for transactions in 143 currencies.
