On March 29, 2019 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (the central bank of Hungary) hosted the fifth annual conference in the framework of its Budapest Renminbi Initiative.
Within the framework of the event, „the first Alipay terminal was presented in Hungary, through which China’s most widespread mobile payment method would be available for Chinese users.”, according to the press release.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Alipay, the UniCredit, the Bank of China London Trading Center, the Corvinus Fintech Center and the Central Bank of Hungary, and professors of Fudan University of Shanghai delivered speeches.
The event also provided an opportunity for the policy- and decision-makers, leaders from the economic and financial sector and experts from Hungary and abroad to discuss the current state of the Chinese-Hungarian economic, trade and financial relations, and the possibilities for progress both in deepening and bringing relations to higher level and in building new relationships.
