The EPC Directory Service (EDS) is accessible by scheme participants and their technical providers (e.g. Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms (RVM) for the Verification Of Payee (VOP) scheme) through a Web GUI, and through EDS Application Programming Interfaces (API).
Once the adherence to the VOP scheme (and the onboarding in the EDS ) is completed – including also user creation and activation in SWIFT user management platform “swift.com” – the scheme participants and the RVMs can access the EDS Graphical User Interface (GUI) using their “swift.com” credentials.
The EDS functions available to the scheme participants and their RVMs through the EDS Web GUI are:
. Consultation of participants data related to the adherence to the VOP scheme: participant BIC, other identifiers, address, roles in the VOP scheme
. Consultation and update of operational information related to the adherence to the VOP scheme: PSD2 National Authorisation Numbers (NAN), supported options, operational contact email addresses, operational readiness date, details about API-endpoints (URI, environment, priority, version, effective dates and time), account holding BICs.
. Download of the EDS content in the “EDS Local File” format
. Acceptation of EDS Terms and Conditions and agreement that all participant data are published in the EDS Local File and therefore made available to other scheme participants
. Management by the scheme participants of the “delegation” of the above tasks to RVMs so that the RVM can fully operate the EDS on behalf of scheme participants
