Revolut is the most downloaded financial app in the country, for the fourth consecutive year.
With the fifth largest retail customer base globally at the end of 2025, Romania continued to be a core market for Revolut, deepening the customer engagement as the third market by monthly active users worldwide. The retail customer base in the local market increased by 12%, reaching 4.8 million clients and a 27% penetration rate of the total population above 6 y.o.

The first full year of operations as a local branch of Revolut Bank UAB in the country contributed to the increase of the customers using Revolut as primary bank by 15%. While the total deposits held by the local customers (retail and business) boosted by 30% (yoy), the lending business unit continued to strengthen the relationship with the Romanian clients.


The lending portfolio in Romania progressed by 68% in 2025 vs. 2024, and the number of granted local personal loans increased by 44%. The diversification of the local offering contributed to the progress by 111% of the balances of the retail customers held in savings accounts and investment instruments like Flexible Cash Funds 2 .

Romanian Revolut customers are actively using the product for daily financial needs, demonstrated by an average of 12 card payments made per month, with 78% of total card payments occurring locally. 58% of the card payments were made with physical cards and 42% with virtual.

Peer-to-peer money transfers between Revolut users progressed by 15% as total volume compared to 2024, with the total number of p2p transactions surpassing 129 million transfers.

Revolut Business also showed strong growth in the Romanian market, with its customer base increasing by 32% and the transaction volume more than doubling (126% year-over-year).
