Entrust, a leading provider of trusted identities, payments and data, announced that Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) and its processing center RPC have expanded their digital card services to the Austrian market with the launch of RaiPay, powered by the Entrust Digital Card Solution.
Consumers expect their banks to enable easy, intuitive and secure digital payment experiences. As one of the largest universal banking groups in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), RBI has launched their RaiPay mobile application in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. With the expansion of RaiPay to Austria, Android device users can now instantly digitize their bank cards for contactless payments.
“We are proud to offer RaiPay to more than 2.8 million Raiffeisen customers in Austria. With Austria being part of the RaiPay ecosystem, customers are offered a more unified payment platform with user-friendly payment options,” said Birgit Rohrhofer, CEO of RPC. “Entrust is a strategic partner that aligns with our vision for a superb digital customer experience, and they enable us to do so simply and securely.”
Entrust has been a trusted partner of RPC since the launch of the RaiPay payment app. The Entrust Digital Card Solution allows RPC to create a unified, intuitive user experience across devices, geographies and merchants, enabling an NFC payment from the payment app, and enables card tokenization. Additionally, this partnership offers enhanced card features to the user, including secure input and PSD2 compliant strong customer authentication.
“RBI is focused on delivering digital-first solutions and has been working to unify their digital services and bring more value to their customers,” said Nicolas Bruley, Vice President Digital Card Solutions at Entrust. “The bank has been growing their digital card services across much of central Europe, and expanding these solutions to Austria is a testament to their customer-focus and innovative spirit. We are proud to work with their team and to enable their digital transformation.”
