Open Banking in Poland: Alior Bank provides an account aggregator

29 mai 2020

As of May 28, 2020, Alior Bank provides its customers with an account aggregator, and thus the ability to view personal accounts at other banks.

In the online banking system @AliorBankSA you can already see personal accounts at @SantanderBankPL, @ING__Polska, @BankPekaoSA and @PKOBP, @mBankpl and @BankMillennium #AliorBank # PSD2. Alior Bank plans to expand this group with new institutions.” – the bank said.

This is another implementation at Alior Bank, which uses the status of the bank as a third party provider (TPP), which can obtain information about customers from other institutions when they agree. The first implementation concerned the simplified credit process, which was introduced at the end of 2019. Currently, it is available in the entire network of own and partner branches, as well as in remote channels. This process will soon be available online.

Alior Bank ‘s strength is quick response to changing customer needs. New technologies, including the use of open banking opportunities, will allow us to achieve the ambitious goals of the „More than a bank” strategy. It is about supporting our clients in everyday, also non-financial activities. We have all the resources needed for this: a team of experts, a modern technology platform enabling flexible and efficient implementations, as well as an ecosystem of fintech partners providing us with the latest solutions.” – emphasizes Iwona Duda, acting president of Alior Bank.

Using account previews at various banks from the Alior Online transaction website is a convenient and practical solution for owners of several bank accounts, i.e. more than half of customers using online banking.

Open banking gives us a chance to offer clients new services that meet their daily needs. Aggregation of payment accounts allows for secure access to current balances and transactions from many banks in one place. The customer decides which accounts from other banks he wants to add or remove from Alior Bank’s online banking dashboard.” – says Marcin Jaszczuk, vice president of Alior Bank responsible for the individual customer segment, as well as the implementation of an open banking strategy.

According to research conducted by RBL_Innovation by Alior Bank, about 40 percent people regularly using banking services via the Internet have personal accounts in various banks, and another 20 percent has different products in different institutions.

The account aggregator available at Alior Online uses the service of accessing payment account information (AIS) introduced by the PSD2 directive. Thanks to this, in the Alior Bank online banking system you can already see personal accounts at Santander Bank Polska , ING Bank Śląski , Bank Pekao and PKO BP , mBank and Millenium .
