Premiere – BNR conference: „Bitcoin vs CBDC – the most important economic decision nations have ever faced”
On April 6th, National Bank of Romania held a conference with a subject never discussed before: cryptocurrencies. The theme proposed by the organizer was „Bitcoin versus Central Bank Digital Currency: The most important economic decision nations have ever faced”.
The Central Bank of Romania made a very interesting choice by inviting Professor Sundri Khalsa (photo), who is also a martial arts trainer for US Marine Corps, to speak about this complex and highly technical issue.
„This talk is not intended to be an add for bitcoin. This talk is intended to compare the characteristics and implications of bitcoin and CBDCs” – Professor Khalsa explains.
„This dilemma – what form of digital money to choose – is the most important economic decision that nations have ever faced and an extremely important national security decision” – says Sundri Ksalsa. Could be CBDC, could be bitcoin or something like it, and option three, „to adopt both”.
