The partnership marks a new milestone in Payfone’s expansion into 35 global markets and will protect consumers against SIM swap and other hacking attacks in France, Spain, Romania and Poland.
Digital identity authentication leader Payfone announced today that it has signed a deal with global telecommunications operator Orange to provide authentication and anti-fraud services in four new international markets. „By leveraging Orange’s European footprint, Payfone will extend its award-winning cybersecurity and authentication products to France, Spain, Romania and Poland, with additional countries going live in 2019.”, according to the press release.
With 85 million identities stolen in France alone in 2016, and 57% of French companies falling victim to some type of cyberattack, the partnership will give enterprises in these four countries the ability to protect their customers and their organizations against SIM swap and other forms of identity fraud through Payfone’s advanced identity authentication technology.
“Orange is one of the leading telecommunications providers on the globe and we are thrilled to partner with them to introduce safer and more convenient digital experiences to European consumers,” said Rodger Desai, CEO of Payfone. “We will be authenticating 19 billion transactions this year in the United States alone, and extending our capabilities to France, Spain, Romania and Poland is a major milestone for us as we continue our expansion into 35 global markets.”
In addition to bringing Payfone’s products, which include Instant Authentication for Mobile, Identity Pre-Fill and Trust Score, to new international markets, the Payfone-Orange partnership will help to satisfy demand from existing Payfone clients looking to utilize Payfone solutions across their international portfolio of operations.
In September, Payfone was selected from a pool of 123 global applicants as a winner of the SINET 16 Cybersecurity Innovator for 2018. Administered by SINET, the award honors the 16 most innovative and compelling cybersecurity companies in the world.
