Pay contactless with a simple gesture using a ring: no card, PIN, bank account or smartphone required

1 octombrie 2015

A company called Kerv, kicks off a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the launch of its first product, a contactless payments ring, the first in the world. The ring, which will retail at £49.99 has an outershell made of zirconia ceramic and is scratch resistant and water proof. Furthermore, Kerv never needs charging. For production capital the company is looking to raise £77,000.

„Carrying a wallet or a purse can sometimes be impractical, uncomfortable or just downright risky. Ask joggers and cyclists. Or surfers and sunbathers. Or clubbers and festival folk … or even naturists – because you don’t get many pockets in a birthday suit. So we made Kerv, the world’s first contactless payments ring. Now you can leave your wallets, purses, phones and smartwatches at home and still pay for stuff, anywhere in the world that accepts contactless payments, with a single gesture. No card, PIN, bank account or smartphone required.”, according to Kerv.

Beyond retail payments, Kerv also offers instant sharing of emergency, medical or contact details at the tap of an NFC-enabled phone, plus one-touch access via compatible NFC locks and security systems.
