Platformis, a provider of digital solutions for managing the relationship between homeowners’ associations and residents, announces the integration of Open Banking payments through FinqLink, the solution developed by Finqware.
„The new functionality enables residents to pay maintenance fees directly into the homeowners’ association’s bank account, without funds passing through intermediary accounts operated by any digital platform—marking a significant shift in how residential maintenance payments are managed in Romania.” – according to the press release.
„By adopting Open Banking technology, Platformis fully eliminates the intermediary fund-collection model – where payments are routed through the accounts of payment processors or digital platforms – and introduces a direct, instant payment solution based on regulated Open Banking banking infrastructure. This approach significantly reduces both operational and compliance risks.” – the company said.
Direct payments, without fund intermediation
„Unlike other market models, where residents’ payments are initially collected into an intermediary bank account and transferred to homeowners’ associations after one or more days, FinqLink, the payment solution implemented via Finqware, enables direct and instant payment initiation from the payer’s account to the homeowners’ association’s account. As a result, Platformis does not hold or manage user funds, while the payment flow becomes clear, traceable, and fully aligned with applicable regulatory requirements.” – the company explained.
“From the very beginning, we never wanted to act as an intermediary for funds—we wanted to find a solution to eliminate that role. Today, that solution exists through FinqLink. Integrating Open Banking payments directly into homeowners’ association accounts allows us to offer a modern, transparent, and compliant solution that meets both user expectations and regulatory requirements,” said Adrian Mușat, Founder and CEO Platformis.
Payments are processed via FinqLink, Finqware’s Open Banking-based solution, regulated at
European level under the PSD2 Directive and authorized in Romania by the National Bank of
Romania. Users can pay their maintenance fees directly from their banking app, without using
cards or cash and without the need to create additional accounts.
„For homeowners’ associations, this model delivers direct and immediate settlements, simplified
payment reconciliation, and improved visibility over financial flows. For residents, the payment
experience becomes faster, safer, and easier to use.” – according to Platformis.
“Open Banking enables exactly these types of flows: direct payments, initiated from the customer’s bank account and settled directly to the beneficiary, without buffer accounts or unnecessary complexity. Through FinqLink, payment details are pre-filled, significantly reducing manual errors and simplifying both the user experience and beneficiaries’ operational processes,” said Cosmin Cosma, co-foudner and CEO Finqware.
Through this partnership, Platformis and Finqware said they aim to promote a model of responsible digitalization for homeowners’ association payments, built on existing banking infrastructure, European standards, and a clear separation of roles between technology providers and fund holders.
„The integration of FinqLink represents an important step in modernizing the management of recurring residential payments, delivering a scalable, secure, and compliant solution for a segment used daily by hundreds of thousands of people.” – the company concluded.
