Google Wallet for iOS becomes a Peer-to-Peer payments App

22 septembrie 2015

Earlier this month, Google launched Android Pay in a move that turned the company’s existing Wallet app into a peer-to-peer payments service. That new app went live on Androidwhen the new pay service launched on September 10, now today it has landed on iOS, too.

The new Google Wallet for iOS app has been completely rebuilt with this peer-to-peer focus. With PayPal’s new service, Square Cash, Facebook, and even Snapchat, competition is hot and there are plenty of companies in the peer-to-peer payment space already. One of the notable facets of Google Wallet is that it allows to send money to anyone in the U.S. using only an email address, the person doesn’t even need to have/use the Wallet service themself.

„You can order a Google Wallet Card from inside the app on your phone. The main benefit of that is that it allows you to spend the debit on your account physically in stores, or withdraw it from an ATM to get the cold hard cash in your hands. The other alternative is to ‘cash out’ the amount in the account to a debit card or bank account that is linked to your account.”, according to

„Dupa ce oamenii creeaza un cont PayByFace si au adaugat cardul, selfi-ul si PIN-ul, si au avut un pic de curaj sa se duca sa incerce, daca au incercat o data plata prin recunoastere faciala nu mai folosesc altceva (n.r. ca modalitate de plata). 80% dintre ei numai asta folosesc. Le place la nebunie.”
