As of the entry into force of the 2019 Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Credit Transfer ( SCT ) rulebook on 17 November 2019, the SCT scheme contains a new annex V describing the Extended Remittance Information (ERI) option. The EPC published today a guidance document which provides detailed information on how to instruct ERI, including a number of practical examples.
The EPC also published an updated version of its Recommendation on Customer Reporting of SCTs (including SCT and SCT Inst) and SEPA Direct Debits (SDDs) (SDD core and SDD B2B). The aim of this document is to present a mapping of the SEPA rulebook requirements vis-à-vis the ‘Transaction Details’ message elements of the ISO 20022 reporting messages. The version from 2013 has been revised to be in line with the latest SEPA rulebook versions and hence includes recommendations related to SCT Inst as well as to the ERI option.
