Ecommerce Europe, the voice of the e-commerce sector in Europe, is coming at PSD2. New Business Models – Fintech Banking Summit, organized by NOCASH on 28 and 29 of November, at Romanian Banking institute in Bucharest. The presentation will be focus on how PSD2 will impact on the European e-commerce industry.
”For this I was planning to mostly focus on the aspects of increased competition between PSPs which should hopefully make payment Services cheaper for merchants and innovative developments. Most of all, I was planning to focus on the impact of the RTS on Strong Customer Authentication, as they will be having the most and direct impact on online merchants’ business models. Unfortunately, merchants are not in the scope of the Directive itself, but the outcome of the final RTS will have a fundamental impact on online merchants’ conversion rates and business models.”, says Pascal Konig, Policy Advisor at Ecommerce Europe.
The European Commission is due to publish and submit its final RTS for scrutiny to the Parliament and Council on 24 November. Therefore, Mr. Konig will also be talking about ”the most up-to-date RTS which we have at this point”.
