Deputy CEO of Garanti BBVA Romania: „we are set for a big jump”
In a Banking 4.0 interview, Tolga Banyocu, Deputy General Manager of Garanti BBVA Romania, said that the bank significantly increased its market share across all business lines. He added that changing the core banking system was the bank’s biggest challenge in 2025, as well as its greatest opportunity for 2026.
„We are trying to catch up organically. Over the past two years (2024 and 2025), we have been investing in a new core banking system to align with the group and become more flexible, modular, and dynamic. We are changing everything. Now, we are set for a big jump. So, 2026 is a big change year for us, a transformation year.” – said Tolga Banyocu.
He continued: “Not many banks or institutions have done this before. We are confident we will succeed, move forward, and deliver a real step change for our customers and for the market as a whole. We may also become a good example for others, showing what this transformation means and how it can be done.”
