20 septembrie 2018

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba plans to complete its project for the launch of the Alipay platform in Serbia by the end of 2018, Serbia’s trade ministry said, according to seenews.com.

Alibaba also plans to promote Serbia as a tourist destination through its Fliggy platform, the trade ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, after a meeting of state secretary Tatjana Matic with the management of the Chinese company at its headquarters in Hangzhou.

The promotion of Serbia through Figgy is expected to contribute to the increase of the visits of Chinese tourists to the country, the trade ministry said.

In September 2017, Matic announced Alibaba was considering opening a logistics centre in Serbia and was seeking a local partner to help with the opening.

Alibaba’s businesses includes core commerce, cloud computing, digital media and entertainment, innovation initiatives and others. In 2014, the company closed the world’s biggest IPO, raising $25 billion (21.4 billion euro) on the New York Stock Exchange.
