B2B embedded finance: Robert Maftei appointed CEO of PragmaGO Romania (formerly Omnicredit)

13 iulie 2026

Robert Maftei has been appointed CEO of PragmaGO Romania (formerly Omnicredit), operating as Telecredit IFN S.A. Part of the International PragmaGO Group since 2024, PragmaGO Romania supports micro-enterprises and small businesses through fast, simple and fully online financing, including factoring, MCA (Merchant Cash Advance) and PragmaCash — a B2B embedded finance product available directly within partner ecosystems such as Gomag and Pluxee.

“I am delighted to join PragmaGO Romania at such an exciting moment for the business – when the company is ready to scale — and my focus will be to support the team to accelerate that growth, with a clear emphasis on digital SME financing. This means expanding our digital factoring offering, but above all, building an embedded finance ecosystem where partners in payments, e-commerce, food delivery and beyond can offer fast or even instant financing solutions directly within the environments their SME clients already use every day. This creates real value for the partner ecosystems and, most importantly, for the SMEs who gain access to financing at the right moment, in the right place,” said Robert Maftei, CEO of Telecredit IFN S.A.

Robert Maftei pointed to the company’s ongoing partnership pipeline as an important driver of its next stage of development.

“I am also pleased that several partnership discussions already initiated by PragmaGO will be concluded or accelerated in the near future — a strong foundation to build on from day one,” added Robert Maftei.

Robert Maftei brings over 23 years of experience across banking, financial leasing, fintech and embedded finance in Romania and the CEE region. He joins PragmaGO Romania from Filbo Group, where he served as Deputy CEO, overseeing lending, payments and e-invoicing operations.

Joining PragmaGO feels like coming home. I started my career in factoring, and returning to SME financing — now enriched with a strong fintech and digital perspective — feels like the right next chapter. Romania represents one of the most compelling embedded finance opportunities in CEE, and PragmaGO already has the right product and foundations to capture it,” said Robert Maftei.

Previously, Robert held senior roles at UniCredit Bank, UniCredit Leasing, Arval — BNP Paribas Group, Ford Trucks, and BRD — Groupe Société Générale, where he contributed to the early development of Romania’s factoring market. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, an Executive MBA from WU Vienna — Vienna University of Economics and Business, completed with honors, and a Fintech specialization from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Professor of Business Strategy at ASEBUSS Business School.
