Polish fintech company Autopay has introduced HandGo, marking the country’s first palm-authentication shopping system that enables transactions without external payment devices while maintaining biometric security measures, according to FFNews.
The HandGo system uses specialized scanners in place of traditional payment terminals. Customers complete transactions by having their palm scanned for authentication, after which the system processes payment through their pre-selected card in the Autopay mobile application.
Palm scanning technology serves as a biometric identity verification method, though it does not directly authorize payments. The system works in conjunction with the Autopay app to execute transactions, creating a payment process that eliminates the need for physical cards or mobile devices.
Autopay has developed this technology primarily for sectors where transaction speed and convenience are paramount, such as wellness centers and sports facilities. The system’s security architecture leverages the unique characteristics of individual palm prints, which offer protection against duplication or loss associated with conventional payment methods.
The HandGo implementation represents the latest development in Autopay’s broader initiative to optimize daily transactions and reduce friction in financial interactions. The launch establishes Poland’s first deployment of shopping technology authenticated by palm biometrics, adding to the country’s growing adoption of innovative payment solutions.
