China UnionPay, most popular payment card in China, will provide App Store customers with a simple and more convenient way to purchase their favorite apps. Customers can easily link their Apple ID with a UnionPay debit or credit card for one-tap purchases.
China UnionPay and Apple jointly announce that App Store users holding domestic-issued UnionPay cards can purchase all types of application products through UnionPay card payment service in a convenient and secure manner. Cardholders can enjoy one-touch payment service upon binding the UnionPay card with Apple ID account.
China UnionPay Assistant Executive Hu Ying says, “We’re very glad to cooperate with Apple to provide App Store users with UnionPay card payment service. China UnionPay will continue to join hands with Apple to provide cardholders with more convenient payment experience and diversified payment services based on the concept of openness, cooperation and service.
Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Apple Internet Software and Service says, “It has long been the expectation of Chinese users to purchase app and complete payment with UnionPay cards. In terms of app downloads, China has become our second largest market in the world. Now, our users can purchase the app they like only with a light click by virtue of more convenient methods provided by us.”
