Americans will soon be able to manage their utility bills through Amazon Alexa devices, according to finextra.com. Customers of billers on the Paymentus Instant Payment Network will be able to link their utility accounts to Alexa and then ask their devices for information about their bills.
For example, users will be able to ask when their bill is due or how their current bill compares to previous periods.
Patrick Gauthier VP, Amazon Pay, says: “By teaming up with Paymentus, we are excited to provide customers and utility billers with a simpler, natural way to manage bills via Alexa.”
During a keynote at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas, Gauthier indicated that the feature will be extended to enable users to pay for their bills through voice commands using Amazon Pay.
PayPal announced its own bill payment partnership with Paymentus earlier this year.
