18 iunie 2024

By adding Adyen and Banking Circle, the EPC will represent 79 payment service providers and their associations, starting 1 July.

„This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in fostering innovation, cooperation, and inclusivity within the realm of digital payments across Europe.” – according to the press release.

Giorgio Andreoli – Director General of the EPC, says: ”The mission of the EPC is to secure interoperability and harmonisation of payments across Europe, with a focus on account-to-account (A2A) and instant payments. The acquisition as a new EPC member of an innovative online merchant acquirer and e-commerce payment service provider (PSP) like Adyen confirms that A2A instant payments are ready for retail and testifies the relevance of the EPC also for the e-commerce and online payments industry. The EPC also warmly welcomes the Banking Circle, another innovative international payments service provider offering business-to-business (B2B) cross-border payment services, as this highlights the versatility of A2A payments and the importance of seamless, efficient and instant payment solutions in today’s digital economy.”

Mats van Rijn, Senior Product Manager at Adyen commented: “We are excited to expand our role in shaping an ambitious European payments future. We believe the EPC is a great forum to share our unique perspectives and help our merchants serve their customers better in the long term through innovation.”

Thomas Kure, Team Lead and Associate Director at Banking Circle, says: “Becoming a member of the EPC underscores our commitment to promoting standardisation and collaboration across the payments industry. It highlights the expanding use cases for A2A transfers for end users. For instance, the new OCT scheme exemplifies our shared interested to facilitate faster and more seamless cross-border transactions.”
