Can you build the next instant-credit journey in less than two days? Banking 4.0 and Tremend Software Consulting are inviting banks, fintechs, software companies and mixed teams of developers, architects, product people and digital banking specialists to experiment hands-on with what EUDI Wallet could mean for lending. Final selection of maximum 6 teams, with 4 people per team.
Imagine applying for a loan without filling in the same personal and financial information over and over again. You select the amount and term, and instead of manually uploading documents or typing your income, your bank simply asks your EUDI Wallet for the evidence it needs — securely, with your consent.
In just one and a half development days, our goal was to build a working onboarding and credit application around the EUDI Wallet. That is the challenge we tackled in the Banking 4.0 Hackathon, powered by Tremend Software Consulting.
“No endless forms. No repeated uploads. A customer selects the loan, shares verified identity and income credentials from the Wallet, receives a credit decision and – if approved – gets the credit offer back into the Wallet. Your challenge is to make that journey work.” – said Sergiu Cone, Banking 4.0 event organizer.
He added: “What makes this interesting is that we’re not building the entire banking ecosystem from scratch. The banking screen, Wallet, credential issuers, verification adapter, and decision services are already provided. Our focus is the integration layer — the part that connects the customer, the EUDI Wallet, and the bank’s decision process into one seamless journey.“

Challenge brief
Build a web application that requests identity and income evidence from an EUDI Wallet, handles a missing or expired income credential, validates the returned presentation, calls a prepared credit decision service, and sends an approved offer back to the Wallet.
The banking screen, Wallet, credential issuers, verifier adapter and decision service are included in the event
environment. Your work is the EUDI integration inside the participant application. The task includes request construction, session handling, consent context, return handling, evidence checks and clear error states.
Scenario
A customer selects a loan amount and term. The application requests a PID (Person Identification Data credential used for the synthetic customer identity) and an Income Attestation (synthetic credential with income, employer and reporting period claims). If the Wallet does not contain a usable income credential, the application opens the Mock ANAF Issuer and resumes the same application session after issuance. The Bank Decision API uses the Mock Biroul de Credit and Mock AML services, then returns APPROVE, DECLINE or REVIEW. An approved result can be issued to the Wallet as a Credit Offer credential.
Why EUDI helps
Credit onboarding depends on identity and financial evidence. The Wallet lets the customer present signed, structured data with consent. DCQL lets the application request the claims needed for the selected product. The application receives a verification result instead of asking the customer to type the same data again.
Completion target
Your demo must run from product selection to a decision. It must also show one recovery case and one trust or subject mismatch case.
Test data
Every identity, income value, credit record and decision used during the event is synthetic. Mock ANAF and Mock Biroul de Credit are event services that simulate the corresponding data sources.
We will have a maximum of 6 teams, with 4 people per team. Each team will also have access to the support and expertise of Tremend consultants throughout the hackathon. Use them — ask questions, validate your approach, challenge your assumptions, and get help when you get stuck.

We’re aiming for something potentially more valuable than a prize that ends with the hackathon. Your team gets the opportunity to build a solution that could have a life beyond this event.
“The winning solution will have the opportunity to be adopted and promoted by Tremend, giving the team a chance to see its work move from a hackathon prototype towards a real-world solution. So you’re not just building something to win a competition. You’re building something that could actually go somewhere. Let’s build together the future of banking.” – said Madalina Popa, Regional Director of Business Development at Tremend Software Consulting.
