Revolut is making its debut in brick-and-mortar retail with the opening of its first physical store in Barcelona. The company said it would „by no means be a traditional bank branch,” but instead a „high-visibility, immersive space”. Revolut has not revealed the exact location of the store, nor the precise services it intends to provide on-site.
Global financial technology company Revolut exclusively confirmed to Euronews that it plans to open its first permanent physical store in Barcelona.
“We chose Barcelona as the place to pilot our physical stores because it combines local density, global relevance, tourism and innovation,” a spokesperson told Euronews Business.
The London-headquartered company said the store is intended to engage directly with consumers and make financial technology more accessible to the public.
The company said it would „by no means be a traditional bank branch,” but instead a „high-visibility, immersive space”. It added that a physical presence could help build trust with customers.
The project is still in its early stages, and the company said the opening timeline would depend on construction progress. It added that it was keen to complete the project soon, but could not confirm whether the store would open this year.
Revolut selected Spain as the starting point for its move into physical financial services, launching its first ATM there in June 2025. At the time, the fintech group said it would deploy an initial network of 50 branded ATMs across Madrid and Barcelona in the following weeks, offering fee-free withdrawals for Revolut customers, competitive foreign exchange rates, and on-the-spot card dispensing. Over the longer term, the machines are also expected to support cash deposits.
„As a pilot market, Spain will host the first 50 Revolut ATMs distributed between Madrid and Barcelona, with an additional 150 units to be deployed in other main capitals like Valencia and Málaga, with a total of up to 200 ATMs installed in the country in the future. The machines will be strategically placed in prominent, high-footfall locations, and Revolut users can always check their nearest ATM in the app via an integrated in-app map that includes details about opening hours, addresses and directions.”
Revolut plans to expand its ATM network to other major European markets following the successful rollout in Spain. „Spain becomes the first market for Revolut’s brand new physical product, with future plans for expansion across other markets in Europe in 2026 and beyond, including Germany, Italy and Portugal.” – the company mentioned.
