Amazon has launched Pay by Bank for purchases in the UK, enabling shoppers on the site to complete sales and set up Prime membership via direct connections to their bank accounts, .
The service avoids the need to enter or store card details by establishing a secure connection between customers and their existing banks. Security is maintained through the customer’s own banking app, using their established biometric authentication or PIN verification systems.
