Since today (29 July, 2025), the Apple Pay is officially available to users in Bosnia and Herzegovina. „Technical implementation is completed during the summer, and now banks can finally start actively provide this service to their customers.” – according to Bosnia Today.
Until recently, Bosnia and Herzegovina was one of the few European countries without support for Apple Pay, but from the users of the Apple device, such as iPhone, Apple Watch, Ipad and Pussy can perform contactless payments with digital wallet.
Apple Pay functions as a digital wallet – instead of a physical card, the device stores debit, credit or prepaid cards, and payment is made by adhering to the device with POS terminal using NFC technology.
The main benefits are speed and convenience, one touches without the need to carry wallet, high levels of security and privacy because the actual data cards are not shared with a merchant, use encryption via Face ID, Touch ID or codes.
Apple Pay is available through banks that have passed the implementation so that users need to contact their banks to check if their card is compatible with the service.
On the newer iPhone models it is possible to have up to 12 cards in the Wallet application.
