Revolut launches its first ATMs in Spain with unlimited free withdrawals for the company’s customers. Non-customers can sign up for a Revolut account in minutes directly on the ATM and get a physical card on the spot.

First 50 branded Revolut ATMs will be launched during the next few weeks in Madrid and Barcelona. Spain becomes the first market for Revolut’s brand new physical product, with future plans for expansion across other markets in Europe in 2026 and beyond, including Germany, Italy and Portugal.

Revolut, the financial app with over 55 million customers globally, officially presented today its own branded ATM machines in Spain, „reimagining one of the most overlooked pieces of financial infrastructure and marking a major step in expanding its physical presence and offering greater convenience to users” – according to the press release.

As a pilot market, Spain will host the first 50 Revolut ATMs distributed between Madrid and Barcelona, with an additional 150 units to be deployed in other main capitals like Valencia and Málaga, with a total of up to 200 ATMs installed in the country in the future. The machines will be strategically placed in prominent, high-footfall locations, and Revolut users can always check their nearest ATM in the app via an integrated in-app map that includes details about opening hours, addresses and directions.

The move comes as Spain remains one of the most cash-reliant economies in Europe, with cash representing over 60% of point-of-sale payments according to the Bank of Spain. It’s also a market where Revolut’s digital services already enjoy strong traction, with nearly 5 million customers enjoying in-house savings, the popular local P2P scheme Bizum, and tax payment features, among others.

While the way we manage money has changed radically over the past decade, ATMs have barely evolved and continue to feature clunky interfaces, hidden fees, poor FX rates, and limited functionalities. Revolut’s new ATM network offers a radically improved, sleek, digital-first experience that allows users to withdraw cash, collect a new physical card and check their balance with ease. Whether you’re a local needing quick cash, or a tourist wanting competitive FX rates, the new ATMs deliver everything with speed and clarity.

By modernising ATMs, the company is bridging the physical-digital gap and extending its brand promise into real-world experiences. Revolut is converting the ATMs into physical touchpoints that deepen trust, drive acquisition, and meet users where they are, especially in travel hubs, and busy urban centres.

„One of the key advantages for Revolut customers is the ability to withdraw money with no additional ATM fees. Customers withdrawing in a different currency from their home balance (e.g. GBP card withdrawing euros in Spain) will benefit from the same competitive exchange rates they’re used to in the app, using Revolut’s rates. In a market where foreign ATM withdrawals often come with high charges and poor conversion rates, Revolut’s ATMs give travellers a smarter way to access their money globally.” – the company explained.

Non-Revolut customers can also use the machines for a competitive fee, making them a smart alternative to traditional ATMs with high FX charges and limited transparency. These users will initially see their own bank’s FX conversion rates apply, but a Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) feature is planned for future release, allowing them to opt for Revolut’s real-time conversion directly at the ATM at a competitive markup. Better yet, non-customers can sign up for a Revolut account in minutes directly on the ATM and get a physical card on the spot — unlocking all these benefits immediately.

With a sleek design, the new ATM features a large 32-inch touchscreen, providing an intuitive and engaging user experience.

Revolut ATM main features include:

Free cash withdrawals for Revolut customers. Cash deposits to be accepted in the long term

No domestic, intra-EU or international ATM withdrawal fees for Revolut users

Competitive foreign exchange rates when travelling abroad

Free Revolut card dispensing (one card per customer)

Operational both with card or contactless: Withdrawals are easy and accessible. Even if customers don’t have their card on them, they can use their mobile wallets easily

Sleek, branded design and intuitive interface for a superior user experience

Accessibility features: Adjustable display, and multi-language support (Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian, Spanish, Swedish)

Advanced security features like end-to-end encryption, with facial recognition identity authentication to be added in the future

Manjot Bhatia, Operating Partner at Revolut said „Launching our own ATM network is a pivotal step in bringing Revolut’s vision closer to our customers, offering a truly global, seamless financial experience. By reimagining one of the most essential physical touchpoints in banking, the ATMs, we’re not just providing smarter cash access; we’re strengthening our brand presence, deepening engagement, and setting the foundation for the next phase of our growth across Europe.”
