Viva.com powers payments with BLIK, the leading Polish mobile payments method

Viva.com, Europe’s first acquirer to power payments on any device and online payment channel in 24 countries, and BLIK, an innovative mobile payment system, announced their strategic partnership, aiming to further expand the European commerce network, accommodating Poles’ preferred payment method.

„With over 16,3 million active users (at the end of March, 2024), BLIK is the most popular, versatile and easily accessible payment method in Poland, now directly connected to Viva.com’s omnichannel payments platform, delivering exceptional support for merchants, and optimum customer experience.” – according to the press release.

BLIK has disrupted the payment habits of Poles, especially in e-commerce, with over 50% of BLIK transactions completed in online shops, registering an 28% YoY increase, according to 2024 first quarter data. In Q1 2024, BLIK recorded a significant increase of nearly 40% in the number of transactions compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 518 million operations worth PLN 73.9 billion (17.1 bn EUR). The number of BLIK phone transfers grew most dynamically – Poles used this service as many as 132 million times, exceeding the number of transactions recorded in the POS channel (between January and March, users made more than 105 million transactions in conventional stores and service points, i.e. almost 50% more than in the previous year).

BLIK is the latest local payment method that Viva.com establishes direct connectivity with, providing full oversight of the payment value chain, accelerated transactions, cost savings, and superior merchant support. Viva.com’s extensive line-up of payment methods includes over 40 options, featuring all major international card schemes, direct connectivity to additional domestic card schemes, and alternative payment methods.

Viva.com brings BLIK payments to both online and brick-and-mortar touchpoints.
