TypingDNA, a pioneer in typing-based behavioral biometrics, is now a ForgeRock Trust Network Behavioral Biometrics Partner, delivering a proprietary typing biometrics authentication API through the ForgeRock Identity Platform.
The partnership enables organizations using ForgeRock to easily deploy innovative behavioral-based authentication, which provides enhanced security against today’s increasingly pronounced cybersecurity risks.
„By passively authenticating consumers based on their unique identifiable device interactions, typing biometrics authentication enhances security, prevents account take-over, and safeguards against online fraud,” according to the press release.
The ForgeRock-TypingDNA partnership enables ForgeRock clients to make use of seamless biometric authentication with great flexibility within the ForgeRock Identity Platform. This integration can be quickly enabled to add behavioral biometric features to a ForgeRock implementation via the ForgeRock Marketplace.
The integration of TypingDNA’s authentication API enhances security by preventing account takeovers as an integral part of holistic risk-based authentication (RBA) and two-factor authentication (2FA) systems.
„Once integrated, the solution provides real-time risk-score assessment and strong authentication capabilities. Clients can determine the necessary further authentication steps in a chain, based on how users type their login credentials or a short phrase, on an average of 28 characters — that is as long as this text —,” the company said.
Typing biometrics authentication is applicable anywhere users type, agnostic of device, app, or browser, and is generally deployed for customer and employee authentication. By recognizing users when they type, TypingDNA’s technology can be used by enterprises in a range of industries.
The European Banking Authority (EBA) approved typing biometrics, also known as keystroke dynamics, to be used for strong customer authentication (SCA) within the PSD2 framework, leading to its wide deployment across the banking and financial industry (BFSI) to prevent fraud in online banking, card-not-present transactions, and consumers’ shopping checkout process.
Other organizations use typing-based authentication to secure employees’ identity management and provide frictionless identity validation for students.
TypingDNA is a behavioral biometrics SaaS company providing typing-based authentication. Proprietary AI algorithms have reached unprecedented accuracy of typing biometrics, making it easier to prevent fraudulent activity such as identity theft, account takeover, and account sharing through 2FA and RBA workflows. Organizations around the world, including multiple banks in Europe, use TypingDNA’s typing biometrics authentication API to ensure compliance with the PSD2’s strong customer authentication requirements.
