Viva Wallet increases contactless payments limits in Portugal, Malta, Ireland, Poland and UK. More countries will follow.

26 martie 2020

Viva Wallet takes measures in increasing contactless payments limits to help the market cope with COVID-19. Considering the situation created due to the global pandemic crisis COVID 19, Viva Wallet is adopting common practices and offers tools to secure the health of its staff and its customers, as well as business continuity.

Find below the measures announced by the company:

  1. Starting from Monday 23/3/2020, we are increasing the limit of contactless transactions in Portugal, Malta, Ireland (50 EUR), Poland (100 PLN) and UK (45 GBP). More countries will follow, after co-ordination with VISA, Mastercard, and other local schemes.
  2. We are limiting the distribution of card machines, readers, and terminals equipped with keypads. Instead, merchants with the new contactless payment limits (listed above) are encouraged to use Smart Android Terminals with touchscreens that can be cleaned with a fast and easy wipe.
  3. We are making available as a low-cost solution, our contactless Mini Card Readers to courier companies and businesses operating deliveries, helping them facilitate payments made at the end of the delivery process.
  4. We are enabling the provisioning of SMS and email receipts in all our terminals to minimise physical contact.
  5. We have available our Payment Notification service, which facilitates payments made through a secure email notification, thus helping any merchant that wishes to start receiving mail and telephone orders.
  6. We are offering free company cards to merchants.
  7. We are providing free plug-ins for all the well-known e-commerce platforms, so that any e-commerce site can take advantage of the up to 0% acquiring fees we offer when taking payments online.

„At Viva Wallet, business continuity is an inherent practice. All our infrastructure operates on Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform, thus ensuring continuous service to its merchants and staff so that all business is conducted as usual. In addition to that, all personnel are working from home already, from the 16th of March, without any impact on service level agreements or project delivery, despite the force majeure situation declared by many other service providers.”, the company added.

Viva Wallet is European Fintech disruptor on a mission to change how businesses pay and get paid. In Romania, the company has a partnership with Vista Bank.

The company’s story began in 2000 as a small but inspired group of technology, UX and payments experts, when company started developing web platforms, electronic services and mobile applications for banks and other corporations.

Today, Viva Wallet is the first European payment services provider entirely cloud-based, over Microsoft Azure and a Principal Member of Visa and MasterCard (for acquiring and issuing services with direct connectivity to the Card Schemes providing processing services through our own platform).

The company provide card processing through their own cloud-based infrastructure, Card-Present and Card-Not-Present acquiring services, merchants accounts and debit card issuing.
