PayPal is deepening its partnership with Google Pay

PayPal and Google are extending their relationship across the search giant’s entire ecosystem, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Pay and Google Store. The deeper integration between the two companies will enable users to adopt PayPal as a an embedded payments option across all Google products and services, including for P2P transfers.

Over the past few years, PayPal have been focused on partnering across the industry to drive greater choice and flexibility in how and where customers can pay – whether that’s in mobile apps, online, in-store or across new contexts. As part of this effort, the company have announced partnerships with leading payment networks, financial institutions and technology companies.

„We already partner with Google to make it easy for our shared users to pay via PayPal in-store, online and in-app with Google Pay and on Chrome mobile web at millions of online merchants using their PayPal accounts and their device authentication. Today, PayPal is extending that partnership to deliver more seamless payment experiences across the Google ecosystem.”

„Soon, users in the U.S. who add PayPal to any one of Google’s services will be able to pay across the Google ecosystem, anywhere that PayPal is offered as a payment method, with only minimal setup.”, says Bill Ready, COO and EVP, PayPal.

For example, when a user adds PayPal to their Google Play account, it will automatically enable their linked PayPal account and make it available as a payment option across popular Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Pay and Google Store, including where Google offers peer-to-peer payments, without the user needing to log in again.
