Visa Europe has announced new partnerships with fifteen European Internet Payment Service Providers (IPSPs), giving the V.me by Visa digital wallet service access to their extensive e-commerce merchant portfolios, and supporting the continued growth and availability of the multi-market wallet service.
The agreements, seen as a milestone moment, increase the reach of V.me by Visa and as a result, Visa expects many more retailers to have access to V.me and be capable of processing transactions by the end of 2014.
Wendy Martin, Director of V.me by Visa, said: “We are delighted that so many leading IPSPs have committed to supporting V.me by Visa. Since the service launched in late 2013 we have seen a fantastic response from our issuers and retailers. The relationships we’ve announced provide us with the scale and reach that will make V.me by Visa into a fully operational commercial service in its launch markets, with pilots underway in several others by the end of 2014.

V.me by Visa is a pan-European digital wallet service developed by Visa Europe. It makes online shopping simple and secure by removing the need for consumers to enter their card numbers, expiry dates and other personal details every time they make a purchase with an online retailer. So, it allows customers to store multiple payment cards in one place.
How does it work?
First, you register your selected payment cards on V.me by Visa, through one of the wallet providing banks. Then, to make an online payment, you simply log-in with your email address and password, choose the payment card and click ‘pay’. V.me by Visa then processes the payment whilst shielding the full card details.
The V.me by Visa digital wallet can be accessed through the internet browser on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The service will be made available through Visa Europe’s issuing members and consumers will be able to put any card from a major scheme into the wallet, regardless of the card issuer or payment scheme.
